Explore new skills or processes through Artist Workshops & Community Sessions

Our curated workshops invite contemporary artists to share their practice through a casual, often interactive, artist talk, followed by a hands-on project relevant to their creative process.

Mirroring our broad interest in printmaking for its potential as an expressive medium, a visual language, a traditional craft, a mode of commercial production, and a tool for social engagement, topics range in focus from the technical to the conceptual. Projects typically incorporate printmaking materials or processes, or incorporate topics of particular interest to those invested in printmaking and the multiple.

Process Spotlight: Screenprinting on Fabric

A Friendly Introduction to Intaglio Printing

Using plexiglass plates, explore drypoint—a direct and intuitive gateway into the world of intaglio. This workshop demystifies the intaglio process by first demonstrating traditional copperplate intaglio, then inviting everyone to create and print their own 5”x7” plate. This is a great entry point for anyone curious about the many intaglio printing, which includes dry point, etching, engraving, aquatint, mezzotint, and more. Participants are welcome to bring images to reference or to trace.
