Learn & Loan Portable Screenprinting Kits

Campfire’s Learn & Loan Screenprinting program offers an accessible and economical way to bring printmaking into classrooms, after-school programs, and grassroots initiatives.

How it works:

  1. Attend a Screenprinting In Situ Workshop to gain hands-on training and become authorized to reserve a Learn & Loan kit.

  2. Request a loan for up to three kits (first come, first serve basis)

  3. Send us image(s) to expose onto screens

  4. Pick up the kit from our studio at 2415 W 19th Street.

  5. Return the kits the following week.

Upcoming Screenprinting in Situ Workshops

Pricing: 

  • $100 for one print station with one screen (includes screen exposure)

  • $65 for each additional print station and screen

  • There is a fully refundable $200 deposit per kit

Each Kit Includes:

  • Portable print station with C-clamps to attach to table

  • 18”x20” screen for printing on fabric or paper

    • Includes exposure of any image up to 8”x10.5”

  • 12” squeegee with brick to hold squeegee 

  • Sheet of mylar for registration

  • 2 rolls of tape (1” and 2” wide)

  • Sponge, rags, spray bottle with simple green, and bucket for clean-up

  • Ink spatula

  • Screen “feet”

  • Pad of newsprint for proofing

  • Newsprint for table protection

  • Helpful tips handout

  • Cart with wheels

Screen Exposure and Reclamation

For the printer who has their own hinges, but no darkroom or washout booth, we offer screen reclaiming and exposure:

  • Screen exposure (image up to 10x16”): $45 per screen

  • Screen reclaiming: $20 per screen

  • Screen reclaiming and exposure: $60 per screen
