Monday, September 29
5:30 to 8:30 PM
Explore printing at Campfire Printing Press with this open studio monoprinting session led by Campfire founders, Angee Lennard and Colin Palombi.
Angee and Colin will share projects that employ monoprinting in a variety of ways to achieve a wide range of outcomes, and demonstrate how to combine ink, plexiglass, paper, and pressure to produce a range of aesthetic possibilities.
From there, participants will be invited to choose their own adventure and experiment with additive and subtractive printing, painterly approaches, stencil-based processes, and the use of ghost prints. As prints roll through the press, the group will be encouraged to share results, ask questions, and build on each other’s learning.
Plexiglass plates of various sizes will be available, with artists able to choose to make a larger volume of small-format pieces or take their time with one or two large-format prints.
All materials including paper for experimentation are included. Participants can bring additional paper or purchase additional paper (Rives BFK) from Campfire. Participants are also encouraged to bring thin materials (string, fabrics, etc.) to use as stencils.
